The Crime Branch–Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) carried out coordinated raids at multiple locations in Dindigul district as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged fraudulent registration of land belonging to the historic Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple in Palani. The disputed temple property is estimated to be worth several crores of rupees and is believed to have been transferred through forged documents and undervalued registrations.
During the raids, investigators searched residences and offices linked to the suspected transactions, collecting land records, registration documents, digital devices, and other evidence. Officials are examining whether government officials, private individuals, and real estate intermediaries were involved in facilitating the alleged illegal registrations.
The investigation aims to identify all those responsible, recover the temple’s assets, and ensure that legal action is taken against anyone found guilty. The case has attracted significant public attention due to the religious importance of the Palani Temple and the high value of the disputed land. Authorities have stated that further investigations are underway, and additional action will be taken based on the evidence collected.
